The volume of a cylinder is 88 cubic inches. A smaller container, similar in shape, has a scale factor of 1/2. What is the volume of the smaller container? If someone could not only give me the answer, but also explain to me HOW they did the problem, that would be great!

I have many ugly formulas that I have to add 2 to 8 times with a different value of x.
example (x^2)/4 + 456x^3 + (523/17)x^2 + 3x =932.1

I tried entering this:
(x^2)/4 + 456x^3 + (523/17)x^2 + 3x =932.1, x=4
(x^2)/4 + 456x^3 + (523/17)x^2 + 3x =932.1 x=7
(x^2)/4 + 456x^3 + (523/17)x^2 + 3x =932.1 x=9
etc.
etc.
but I get syntax errors

How do I do this with the ti-89 please?
