funky math riddle(very Hard)?

I heard this riddle from my teacher but i couldnt figure it out can any of you.


March 14 is Pi DAy(3/14) if we live in a base ten world and March 14 is pi day what would pi day be if we lived in a base eight world.

I know very hard keep in mind that the numbers go from 0-7 in a base eight world not 1-8. And in a base ten world it is 0-9 not 1-10. If u figure it out plse explain

I believe it is March 11 in base eight.

Note: decimal: pi = 3.14159265
= 3 + 1/10 + 4/10^2 + 1/10^3 + 5/10^4 + ...

thus in octal we need:
pi = 3 + [x1]/8 + [x2]/8^2 + [x3]/8^3 + ...

Now, 1/8 = 0.125
0.14159265 - [1]*0.125 = 0.01659265 ... x1 = 1

1/64 = 0.015625
0.01659265 - [1]*0.015625 = 0.00096765 ... x2 = 1

1/8^3 = 0.001953125 which is greater already than the remainder... x3 = 0

1/8^4 = 0.000244140625
0.00096765 - [3]*0.000244140625 = 0.00023523

thus in octal:
pi = 3.1103...

First, what is pi in base 8 ?

(22/7 base 10 is 26/7 base 8 = 3 1/7 = 3.11 base 8 - which is 3 + 1/8 + 1/64)

pi = 3.11 base 8

3/11 represents the (8 + 1)th day in March.

So the second day of the second week is pi day in base 8. (Equivalent to March 9 in base 10).

3 remains the same ( to indicate march ) in base-8

To get 14....
use base division....

14/8 is 1 (quotient) and 6 ( reminder)...

hence its 3/16

I don't know how to give a date because pi in base eight is really just 3! But 14 in base eight is in fact 16. So, if you had to press me for an answer I'd say 3/16.
