Where is the second line?
Usually 4x+8y=17 and 2x +3y=9
if you have two you can solve.

4x + 8y = 17
8y = 17 - 4x
y = (17 - 4x) / 8

Answer: y is ([17 - 4x] / 8) OR (2 1/8 - 1/2x)
