Hello I'm currently working on physics project about physics of sound.

There are some questions however.

Are there any occasion or examples that sound energy turns into other form of energy such as heat? or electronic?

Thank you !

What are mechanisms??
I need to find what are mechanisms. Pls give longer answers with explanations...thank you.
ok, i CANNOT possibly just go and check the dictionary for this.
My task was to RESEARCH on MECHANISMS(with 2 parts):
a) What are mechanisms?
b)Types of mechanisms -
i)cams and followers
ii)levers
iii)linkages
iv)gears
v)pulleys

So yeah, i just need to have a long explanation/definition/meaning/or whatever(im not too sure myself)on what are mechanisms. i can find the b) myself. I need to write something like an ESSAY on a). so, checking dictionart isnt enough. HELP EVERYONE!!!!

Thanks in advance

There is one particular operation called Agrotors, that I know of. I'm just curious if there's any other "companies" that do it and how long it's been done.

I was watching myth busters and they were kicking a force plate...can one be made with simple materials that mesures in the thousands?
I was watching national Geographic fight science and boxers were punching at over 900 pounds others were at over striking at over 2000 pounds…so the machine would have to measure in the thousands…

Whenever we see an oil refinery, they are burning off gas as a huge flame at the stack. I presume that this gas is a by-product of the refining process, but why can't the energy be put to some constructive use instead of just burning it? There is obviously a reason for what they do, but why must that be the only alternative?

I am deciding between two majors: Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. I have taken one course in physics (mechanics) and hated it and wasn't good at it. I also took materials science and hated it. However, I took basic fluid mechanics and basic thermodynamics and found both very interesting and did very well. I also took two semesters of chemistry, did well, but found some of the material to be dull.

I would like to eventually go into the energy or propulsion fields but am not sure which major to pick.

Any suggestions??

I have a restaraunt on the bottom floor of a 3 story building. I need to run my exhasut ducts to the exterior wall and up to the roof.
The vertical run will be 42' +/-. the shaft will be 3' x 2' interior dimension.
The exterior wall is 3 coat stucco on metal lath over building paper over densglass gold over 6" metal studs.

What will be teh best design/ framing method to construct this shaft? This will be built in Florida- are there any code violations by running an exhasut shaft up an exterior wall?

Where will be teh best place to find details?

Thanks.
