A windmill takes alot of steel to make, and is not always a very efficient energy source. I'm wondering if anyone knows about how long it would take to recuperate the energy spent in its creation, given a common model of windmill and average set of wind conditions, etc.

I need to replace this electrolytic cap, but I can't find any information on it really, or who makes it. All I have is what it's marked with:
47
EFC
K66

I think the '47' may be the capacitance (47pF) but not sure..
Any ideas?? Would be MUCH appreciated!!!

(a) In a wind tunnel, the flow speeds on upper and lower surface of a aeroplane wing are 70m/s and 63m/s. What is the lift on the wings going to be if its area is 2.5m². The density of air is 1.3kg m^-3.
Can you also explain me how you worked it out.

(b) I need to find the change in internal energy of a gas when it absorbs 100 calories of heat and performs work equal to 170 joules. I also need to find the change in internal energy of a gas when it absorbs 30 calories of heat and work equal to 65 joules is performed on it. Can you also explain me how you worked it out.

(c) A military helicopter transmits a long distance call. what range of frequency should it choose for that? If it receives a call at a frequency of 90MHz what should be the minimum size of antenna to receive the call. Can you also explain me how you worked it out.

Okay, I am totally into electrodynamics stuff eversince i got introduced to the topic few months back. I gotta do something for my K12 project and i thought i could do Maglev. As far as I've understood, there are two major methods of building a model maglev - 1. the superconductor method 2. the linear motor method. The superconductor method is way too expensive for a school project so i am left with the Linear Motor method. Now, there are many kids in my school who have done Maglev that work mechanically (by giving an push the train kinda runs), the easiest and the cheapest way to make a train. So mine's gotta be the higher end one. So mine will be an 'automatic' (powered by cells) model, and also intelligent to some extent. So i searched books and the internet and i found this extremely common method to do it - it requires this this device called as 'Hall Effect Sensor". Will be glad if someone tells all about this thing. Thanks a ton in advance!!

Intel is frequently in the news lobbying the government for more H1B visas. But did you know that their original R&D facility in Santa Clara, CA is scheduled to be shelved by the middle of next year. The remaining facility is expected to have around 200 workers -- down from a workforce of about 3500 PhDs & techs.

And IBM has quietly hired some 50000 people overseas in the past 3 1/2 years while laying off US employees in the thousands.
