Get a degree in electronics engineering. There are also training programs for electronics repair. The engineers make better money but it takes longer and is more difficult to get. Some of the people I went to college with first got their associates in electronics and went straight into the field working as repair techs. Some of them went back to finish their engineering degree a few years later.

As an Electronics Technologist I can tell you that you need your fair share of schooling. I put in 3 years at a local college to get where I am now. I am considering going back to get my P.Eng but that is another 3 or 4 years.

My suggestion, start with schooling, especially maths, like Calculus.

Well it might be a good idea to get a degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
