The term Skid Beam usually refers to a beam that is attached to the bottom of a loaded skid, that acts the same as a runner on a sled, so that the loaded skid can be pulled or pushed around to different locations by tractors or fork lifts, etc.
There must always be at least two skid beams for this to work.
A Skid Beam usually has at least one end tapered, like a sled runner.
