Typical towers built today in US suburbs are typically 1 million gallons. Some can be up to 1.5 million. The ones that look like a perfect shere on the pedestal are smaller.

I know of some towers with multiple supports that go as high as 3 million gallons.

The water towers on top of buildings are typically 5,000 to 10,000 gallons.
