I have a very small (1 feet X 1 feet X 1.5 feet) 650VA fuel powered generator. There has been a lot of lightning strikes in our area which knocks off power for hours. I normally run the generator when there is power failure but I'm scared to run it because it might to attract lightning when its running (generators create a magnetic field, so they say). The generator is kept under a roof (garage).

Is this correct? do magnet's attract lightning strikes? the generator isn't grounded correctly though. Hour house doesn't have a lightning arrestor as well. But we have a lot of tall tree's.

So is it safe to run my small generator inside the garage? Will it invite lightning strikes towards my house?

Thanks

I know that the formula in finding the watts is W = V * A. But is there any limitations based in this formula? If there is, can you please tell me. But if that’s the formula, then the answer will be 1,313.5 W.. Is that right?
Likewise, can you please tell me where I can find a solar panel that produces this power (3.7 volts and 355 mA)?
Is 355 mA the same as 355 mAh?
Is this power from the solar panel ok to use (to charge) in a cell phone?
Please answer my questions..
Thank you & God Bless!

I used to think that General Electric, founded Thomas Edison, was involved in only developing electric appliances like the light bulb. Since when did it start to develop jet engines like the F404 used in the Hornets? Did Thomas Edison involved himself in jet engines?

Right this is an electronics question and i`m new to this but am developing a computer controlled stepper motor drive system .(had some old printers for parts) and I had this idea to make a plugable system so expansion could become easier as my interest grows and uses are found. The idea is to use latching ics like the jk flip flop to collect data from the bus and set the busy signal until the stepper has done its bit and is ready to move again. This would allow the p.c. to do something more interesting instead while the real world does it`s thing. so the real question is how as all the books i've read dont cover this form of application for that i.c.(or do but i'm not smart enough to realise). so a circuit diagram would be groovy but a very good description may well surfice.

look forward to hearing from you soon bye

What the most efficient way of reinforcing a coca cola can(non destructive) given these constraints.....
Constraints
1. The height of the can must remain the same (i.e no additions can be made to the top and bottom of the can)
2. No more than 70% of the height of the can may be covered / wrapped or otherwise confined from the outside contingent on #3.
3. The diameter of the modified cannot exceed 5% of the original diameter of the can.
4. No scaffolding or internal reinforcement can be placed within the can (including that bonded to the can’s internal walls) in excess of 70% of the height measured from the center of the can top to the center of the can bottom
5. The total weight of the can should not exceed 212 grams.
6. No liquid or compressed gas of any kind will be permitted in the can. Rods or other solid additions to the can, if used, cannot exceed a total cross-section of more than 15% of the can itself. Hollow rods will be considered as solid for purposes of this calculation.
