Yes you can. Contact your local sewer utility for how to do it.
There is a paper which describes a novel spectrophotometric method for quantitating the silver in silver-stained electrophoresis gel bands and X-ray film images. Please visit the following link for more information..

Yes, you can extract the silver from any film containing it using a simple nitric acid bath. It can be done in a closed glass vessel and for each film it will only take seconds to remove the silver.
The silver extracted will be in be in the form of silver nitrate and can readily be sold to silver platers who can then convert it back thru electolysis in the plating process.
Even if you do not have a lot of film from which to salvage the silver, this is a worth while thing to do.

To burn the films completely, until not there but flames.
To attack the remainders with nitric acid
To filter and to leave the liquid remainder ( Silver Nitrate)
Add kitchen salt (sodium chloride) and immediately silver chloride precipitates.
Dissolve it in chloride acid and add dust of metallic zinc
and the metallic pure silver precipitates.
As you can see is a complex process (and expensive one) and the quantities of silver will be to little

you cannot extract silver in its pure form as an element from x ray filim as it is present in very small quantities.
It is present as an compund of silver on X Ray films.
