we are facing problems like landsliding, mud forming while excavation, ground water seapage, and continious flow of water. We are also not able to stop water also from existing drainage line. last three months we are doing this job, but not able to lay single pipe. We had also used chain mounted machinery like hitachi 200 also but no result ! as and when we lift earth, more earth is sliding from sides forming mud and we are not able to perform replacing pipe. Please give me information regarding how to prevent landslide and how to lay 18" RCC Hume pipes in mud ? Is there any construction chemicals available to prevent ground water seapage ?

HP and torque are used with abandon and interchangably by automotive engine writers, but it seems like they don't have a clue what they're talking about.

HP is simply the measured by lifting a weight a specified height in a specified time, so what is torque?

If I knw the power and the rpm (indicated on the plate), do I make use of the equation: Power = Torque * rpm? Will I be calculating, starting torque or working torque, with this equation?

Just because we can build something does that mean we should build it? How do we know if something should be built or if it shouldnt? Where does it all stop thats basicaly what im asking? When light bulbs were invented during the turn of the century, it was so durable it could last a lifetime. But manufacturer later figured out it will not be a sound business idea to make bulbs to last a lifetime, since they will incur no re-orders.

So, they had to put a shelf life to bulb to ensure cycles of repeat orders. A sound business idea.
