Ok, Edison was a great genius, yet, there was also Tesla, whom I´ve read had worked with Edison. Well, I know Tesla came to the US already bearing a Phd, but Edison had none. I heard Edison stole most of Teslas ideas and then marketed them earning all the credit for Teslas discoveries. Is that remotely true?

I've been thinking about projecting images onto the night sky for a special event sometime next year. I'm willing to spend any amount for existing technology (even by the billion).

It is clear that man is too heavy to fly using bird-like wings that would flap. They would simply have to be too large and use too much energy for taking off.

However, how about wings like on a bumble-bee? A bumble-bee's wings are very small and lightweight compared to the bee's mass.

Could one use nano-technology to create a super-strong ultra-lightweight wing that would be powered not by a motor, but by artificial muscle also created from nano-technology?

Man would wear this aparatus, not to fly like a bird, but to "buzz about" like a bug.

The technology for this does not yet exist, but will within 25 years. Assuming we can create very strong artificial, non-mechanical muscle to power the super-fast beating wings, wouldn't something like this be feasible?

That being said, how large would the wings need to be, say to allow a 180 lb man to fly like a bug? They say that from a scientific standpoint, bumble-bees cannot fly, yet they do.

don't steal my idea, this is considered "in writing" and I said it first.

I think it would be a very useful addition to homes since most of our electronics require DC power. Just about anything you plug into the wall that has a big black box on the cord is taking the 120V AC voltage from the electric companies and turning it into a much lower 6V to 24V DC power. This could be avoided by having a self contained power source in the basement with a gas powered generator.
Think about it. with our homes battery powered, a 'power-out' could shut down your neighborhood and you still have your DC powered electronics. your laptops, cable modems, routers, etc will still be working.
My home uses a cable modem that also takes care of my phone line. in a blackout, I loose my telephone. But not if it has a battery backup. They already make battery backups but why not have it central to the house. and with gasolene recharging it you have that power in case of emergencies.

I am creating bar charts in Matlab, and I would like to put a text label under each bar showing what the bar represents.

I seem to be only able to place numbers under each individual bar.
eg: bar([1 2 3],[# # #]);
This command plots three bars labeled 1, 2 and 3.
Matlab doesn't seem to allow me to put text in the place of 1, 2, 3.

If you could give me a command that would change this it would be most helpful. Thanks.
