I'm looking for a way to cover a giant sphere with cloth. My problem is that you can't just wrap the cloth aroung the sphere...because it will wrinkle uncontrollably. How can I make the cloth lay flat? I assume it means making many separate cuts that fit together in the shape of a sphere...but I can't figure it out yet. Please help!

What intrigues me is how we can fashion microprocessors from stone tools. There is a progression. Stone tools led to copper tools, which led to bronze and iron and parts of increasing refinement. I don't understand how crudity can lead to sophistication. What is the missing ingredient?

What is the difference between the two? I have worked as a carpenter for many years and tired of going nowhere. I was thinking about taking classes to become a civil engineering technician, but I am not sure if that is the same thing as a carpenter labor? I would hate to spend thousands of dollars to do the same job. Any information about this career field would be greatley appreciated. Thanks

Suppose you had a spiral (not flat), propeller that draws air to itself.

It requires an engine to get it started and up to a pre-set number of

RPMs, but then the engine can be shut off. Would it be able to

overcome the force of friction and continue to run on its own? If

not, what else would prevent it from working?

Does anyone know where I can buy just 5 inexpensive 9 volt push type solenoids that could be used to press the shutter button on a digital camera? The shutter button is very sensitive so not a lot of pressure is needed. Radio Shack no longer carries componenets (except a few replacement ones) but no solenoids. Other places online require you to buy hundreds in bulk. They won't even give you prices on 1 to 5. I am building a helium balloon rig, an underwater rig and 3 computer control rigs for time lapse. Therefore, I will only need 5. I would prefer if they also had threaded holes for mounting.

Thanks

Gentlemen

Thanks for answering my previous question viz: can I recharge battery by charger connected to the AC supply from the inverter? I have seen from your answers that although this is possible it is not recommended

My question now is: can I recharge the battery by way of a car alternator. That is, I power a rotor, say, 100watt motor that will be coupled to a car alternator, which will then charge the battery. Actually I want to eliminate the need for grid electricity in this project.

Thanks

Harry
