Does anyone know where I can buy just 5 inexpensive 9 volt push type solenoids that could be used to press the shutter button on a digital camera? The shutter button is very sensitive so not a lot of pressure is needed. Radio Shack no longer carries componenets (except a few replacement ones) but no solenoids. Other places online require you to buy hundreds in bulk. They won't even give you prices on 1 to 5. I am building a helium balloon rig, an underwater rig and 3 computer control rigs for time lapse. Therefore, I will only need 5. I would prefer if they also had threaded holes for mounting.

Thanks

What about this LEDEX #81840 for just $1.00? It is rated at 6 oz push for 0.125" travel and a recommended supply of 12-24V but 9V might supply enough force to activate a small pushbutton.

Search the digikey.com catalog. I found 48 listed. Although I did not check voltages or any other parameters. Their minimum order is quite reasonable.
