I'm considering buying a new computer to allow me to do work at home. I've been considering a Mac because from what I've read the operating system is much easier to use and I intuitively like the Apple design philosophy. Does anyone know how well OSx supports engineering computing software?

Today I am on that stage of life where I have to choose the correct path for my future . I will be an engineering student , in a reputed NIT college of India , in a few days time . I have to choose one branch which will be the base of my bright future . I can choose to either a Computer engineer or a Civil engineer . The computer branch seems to be more glittering & comfortable while civil seems to be a not bad & just OK kind of branch . I am equally inclined to both & just need a strong justification of the good & bad features . of both of them in INDIA & outer world especially in developed countries . I also wish to know their future aspects , employment chances & income . can you help me ?

I bought myself a hybrid camry a month or so ago. And please, don't tell me its not worth the gas savings. I know all the math and I love my new car. Just as an engineer I am curious - there must be savings on the pads because some braking is done by the engine.
