He sums up why homology is a problem for the theory of evolution as follows:

What mechanism can it be that results in the production of homologous organs, the same 'patterns', in spite of their not being controlled by the same genes? I asked this question in 1938, and it has not been answered.

Although some 30 years have passed since de Beer wrote those words, they have still received no answer?

The discovery which really overthrew homology is that organs accepted as "homologous" are almost all controlled by very different genetic codes.

Is there a scientific response to this, that would gave support to theory of evolution?

First off let me say I have no intention of offending anyone by posting this, and I know it sounds awfully like Nazi propaganda (which it probably was at one point) but I know nothing about biology or genes so would like to hear an educated opinion.

My point is this; if we all evolved from dark-haired apes in to dark-skinned people living on what is now the continent of Africa, and then spread out across the globe, surely the white blond/ blue eyed people were the last to develop as their colouring would have taken the longest time to develop. So does this mean anything genetically?

As I have previously I am not racist, a facist, a Nazi or anything else of the sort but I am uneducated when it comes to matters of biology and the above argument does sort of make sense to someone with no knowledge of the subject, so I'd just like it cleared up by someone in the know.

I know nothing of science but have phrased this as PC as I could so please no comments about me being a Nazi.

I am getting confused about the interphase stage in cell cycle. I read that chromosome is a single double helix of dna, which is like 1 chromatid, right? ..but then , I read that a chromosome have 2 chromatids..so which one is it? 1 or 2? Is it still called chromosome with just 1 chromatid? Am I missing something here? I just don't get this interphase stuff. I understand what is happening in the other stages, but I am not clear about the chromosome part in interphase. Sorry, I am a math major, but taking this class for the science requirement. If you can, please help. Thank you

The Quran says: "We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech, suspended thing, and blood clot), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed substance)... (Quran, 23:12-14).

On this verse, Professor Emeritus Keith L. Moore, one of the world’s most prominent scientists in the fields of anatomy and embryology and author of the book entitled “The Developing Human”, said "“It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God.”

I love to debate religion and came across this q:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070621163737AA1mRy6
[question is "why can't scientists take the materials needed and create a cell"]

You can see my answer if you want, but it's been at least 15 years since I've had a biology class. I'd love to see your responses or maybe a theory on how the single celled objects might have first come about. I'm looking to refine my knowledge of the current working theories as well as your own personal thoughts.

I was in an arguement with a fellow platoon mate today discussing some rare condition he was born with. He called it Cyto lympomilia or something like that, not very important. Now here is my question:
He claims he was born with NO white blood cells and did not develope any until he was 4 years old. Is this even possible? Is it a really disease?

I'm basing this question on the fact that few humans can live in climates 25 degrees hotter than body tempurature, but have no problem in tempuratures much colder (I have a lot of friends who wear shorts and t-shirts at 50 degrees).
