I'm working on a lab in a biology class. This lab is used by many, many schools so this question might look familiar (though it's not on Yahoo Answers yet). I'm looking for the effect, and why the effect happens. What alcohol causes the greatest damage to the beet cell membrane -- methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol -- and why? Size of molecule?

2. What races/heritage are documented as having or not having this RH factor in their blood and has science determined it's function or purpose in the blood?

I know from research that certain blood variants, such as sickle cell affect a disproportionate number of those people's whom have African descent. Is Rh a condition such as this?

Please forgive the language, I know it's incorrect, but I think it's clear what I am asking. Thanks.

Think Biology. Any ideas would be helpful. My initial response was carbon since almost everything is made of carbon.

I know about 2 to the power of 23, but if there are 23 from the male and 23 from the female, wouldn't you multiply 23 * 23 to find the possible gamete combinations?

I missed the day my teacher went over the pre-write for a BCR so I got a little confused, especially since we don't have textbooks at home yet. Our notebooks are being collected tomorrow and the BCR being graded as well.

Anyways, I pretty much understand the process of mitosis, but I just got confused with this question. More to the question is what are the steps (I guess of what the DNA goes through) and what the chromosomes do in these steps.

Another question I got confused by, even though it's probably obvious, is why the chromosome number is important in mitosis.

Sorry for being so desperate, but I really just want to go to bed. Even if you don't give me the answer directly (which you really don't have to), a website to help me (besides Wikipedia) would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance =)

I have to catch 40 bugs, over a long time period for a biology project. They have to be from different species and stuff but I spent hours in my backyard catching nothing. (I live in California and the weather is kind of cold right now, not like freezing winter though) Any suggestions on where I could go to catch certain bugs?
