The only thing that makes you different as in + or - is the presence of a molecule on your blood cells called RH factor. One of your parents are probably Rh + and the other Rh -. The RH+ is probably recessive being Rr, while your other parent is rr which is RH - recessive. If you got the rr gene then you will be RH- and if you got the Rr or RR gene then you are Rh +.

Usually, AB blood types have received a portion of their parents' type, usually an A and the other a B. It is not unusual for the factor to be positive or negative on the AB combination.

The blood type as in A, B, AB, or O must be possible for your parents' type.
If your parents are both A, thenyou MUST be A or O.
If one parent is A, the other is Bm then you can be A, B, AB, or O.

If both parents are negative, then you can only be negative.
If both are positive then you can be positive or negative.
If one is positive and one is negative than you can be positive or negative.

The reason that this IS possible is:

1. Negative means someone does not have the Rh factor. The allele for this form of the trait is recessive. This person must be rr genotype.
2. Positive means someone does have the Rh factor. The allele for this form of the trait is dominant. This person could be either Rr or RR.
3. Possible combinations of parents that could produce both negative and positive kids are Rr and Rr or Rr and rr.

AB- and AB+ are just a difference of RH factors...one parent has 2 RH- and one parent must have 1 RH+ and 1 RH-

so you got 1 of each and the RH+ is dominant

for every phenotype (physical characteristic) there are 2 genotypes (genetic characteristics)

Me and my brother are exactly the same!!!!!

I am ab-, he is ab+...

at least you get to say... my blood type AND my motto is b+
if i tried that... id sound terribly bad :(

so... unless my brother was adopted (which i find reaaally hard since we are 50% japanese 50% mexican and we both look like "japxicans") id say its possible
