as temperature increases the rate of respiration also increases. but only to a certain temperature usually up to the low to mid 40's Celsius. And if it goes any higher the respiration's stops because of denaturazation. or simpler terms it get to hot and cell structure in the pea breaks up.

I would assume that respiration increases with temperature (until a specific point is reached) in which the pea cannot handle the heat, in which case, it would die... Theoretically, as long as it is kept well-watered, a warmer temperature would be good.

Those little green guys are happiest at warm temperature, but then they breathe faster and they sweat. Eventually they get picked up by the Jolly Green Giant anyway, so it's all good.
