I have a few problems out of a packet of them that are giving me troubles. These are the problems:
1. An albino hemophilic man marries a normally pigmented, non-hemophilic woman whose father is hemophilic and whose mother was an albino. What is the expected ratio of genotypes and phenotypes among their sons and daughters? (This one is giving my problems because I know hemophilia to be a sen-linked recessive trait, but what about albinism? From what I unerstand there are several types?)
2. In a flock of turkeys, if you found that in some matings you got a ratio of two males to one female, what explanation seems most likely? (I know that poultry, which is ZZmale/ZWfemale, can change sex with operatory procedures, but if there were a sex change, it would either be a ZZxZZ cross, producing all males, or a ZWxZW cross, producing 1 MALE and 2 FEMALES, and a lethal. How can I switch the ratio?)
Thanks if you can help! :)
