There are many many proteins found embedded in plasma membranes. There are ion channels (voltage gated Na+ channel for example) there are ion pumps (Na+/K+-ATPase pump) there are other pores and channels (aquaporins), there are signal transduction proteins (G-proteins, tyrosine kinase proteins), there are adhesion molecules (integrins), there are molecular receptors (growth factor receptors and B/T Cell receptors), and many more. The examples I give are just a FEW of many.

The cellular membrane is the "door" for the cellular. hence, this is the permeable shape that releases the proteins outdoors of the cellular. remember~ the two plant and animal cells have a cellular membrane, while the plant cellular is the only one with a cellular wall.
