If a human was born with an extra chromosome, they'd probably suffer from a genetic disease. If it's an extra 21 chromosome, possibly Down's Syndrome or whatnot. If it was an extra chromosome that isn't a duplication, who can say? It's never happened before.
If an extra was injected, however, nothing much. The extra chromsome would only affect the genes where it was injected and even then, because it was injected into the cell, it would be episomal (existing outside of the actual nucleus).
Episomal DNA is always lost or destroyed if selection pressures for that piece of DNA is not kept.

Sometimes people are born with a 24th chromosome, and they have mental disabilities. Something as simple as one messed up base pair, can be unbelievably disastrous. It is a very bad thing if you are born with an extra chromosome. as far as being injected with more, I don't think that would do anything. Someone would have to find a way for the person to go through a genetic mutation, and then they too would probably be disabled.

Down Syndrome is a birth defect with an extra pair of genes. Depends of what the pair is, many defects are random genes.

It would cause a genetic mutation. What exactly would happen depends on the chromosome.
