The problem I was provided with asked "A mouse fancier discovers a yellow mouse and crosses it with a black one. Half the progeny are yellow and half are black. A cross of two of the yellow mice results in two-thirds yellow mice and one-third black. How do you account for these results?

I'm not really certain what types of genes you would have to cross to come up with progeny (offspring) in thirds?

Thank you if you can help!

2: What is the charged, outer region of a lipid molecule
3: What is the passageway that allows necessary molecules to move in and out of a cell
4: What is the building block of cell membranes?
5: What is the structure of a cell membrane?

These are all crossword puzzle answers, so I don't need detailed answers, just one word answers. Thanks

What is the largest living being on our planet? Ignore the Gea theory, I'm just interested in plants or animals. I remember hearing it in a movie (yeah, I know, don't believe everything you hear) that the largest living organism on our planet is an aspen colony somewhere in Colorado. Though colony is probably not the right word for it, since it's just one tree with tree trunks growing from various parts of it's roots. Then again, I can't remember how big it is (not to mention how old). Any useful input is appreciated.

Specifically, what physical processes in the brain--or wherever--are activated by consciousness? Furthermore, is there "more consciousness" in a human than in a "lower" life form? That is, does a dog have consciousness; if so, is it more consciousness filled than a lobster? Finally, does a human born without senses of any kind and who is never in contact with living things live in a state of consciousness: Does that person possess a "mind"?

To be more specific, literally why did humans end up being so lucky and being able to become the dominant life form? If it wasn't a coincidence, what made it rather obvious?
This is a general question, I suppose, so give your opinion and facts as well.
Thanks, everyone!
