The parents of a cross are true-breeding for different forms of the same trait. Ex: purple flowers crossed with white flowers. True-breeding means they are homozygous.

If it's a monohybrid cross, you are only considering differences in one trait. If it's a dihybrid cross, you are considering differences in two traits at a time.

Interbreeding between different taxa. Interspecific hybrids refer to interbreeding between different species (but same genus), and intraspecific hybrids refer to crosses between sub-species.
