humans have 23 pairs of chromsomes yet the closest primate has 24. my understanding of evolution is that it is the action of small incremental changes over a long period of time. however on the chromosome level wouldn't this have had to have been very abrupt? also, wouldn't this change have had to happen to many offspring simultaneously, as they would no longer be genetically compatible to the previous generation?

I'am doing, "what is the different between a perfume & cologne.Which has the least concentration, and which last longer." Although i know all the answer to this question but i can't seem to find...how to do this project. First of all i need the "Purpose, Hypothesis,Procedure,Independent variable,Dependent variable, the Controls are, Result, & the Conclusion." If you are willing to help, please answer these question because I'am having a hard time thinking of what i should do with perfume & cologne for my project, all i can think of is these kinds of question for my science fair. So please help me find some info, I've done some research myself as well but it seem not to work!

This might be a stupid question. If atoms can not be created or destroyed, where do the atoms needed to make a person come from? When a woman gets pregnant where do the carbon, oxygen, etc. atoms come from that are needed to make a human?

It would seem that only the antisense strand would be necessary to match the antisense RNAi to the sense mRNA and identify it for cleavage. Is the double strand necessary for the RNAi to be recognized and/or bound to the Dicer and/or RISC proteins?

Most people say sodium to mean salt. Are they just shortening the phrase sodium chloride? Or does the body really break salt down into sodium and chlorine? Sodium is a white metal that reacts violently with water. We don't really have sodium in our bodies, do we?
