The process is called TRANSLATION. During this process the sets of three bases of mRNA which are called codons are recognized by tRNA carrying specific amino acids. The amino acids that are brought along by the tRNAs are joined by peptidyl trasnsferase and a peptide bond is formed formed between two adjacent amino acids. The formation of peptide bonds between the two coming amino acids goes on till all the codons are read.Thus a polymer of amino acids is formed which is called a protein.The process of translation involves three main steps; Chain initiation, chain elongation, and chain termination.
