Just curious why bumblebees can see at this higher frequency range. What advantage does this give them?
What exactly do they see that is different?

(Would love to see some UV pictures of flowers, fauna, etc)

Thanks for any ideas

Development of Modern Evolutionary Theories: Darwin Theory

Patient A is provided with an atibiotic medication to treat an ear infection. Several years later a similiar infection is trated with the same antibiotic. The patient takes the antibiotic over a longer period and greater streangth. Th einfection does not clear. The bacteria causing the infection is said to have "developed" resistance to the antibiotic.

Does this microbe resistance provide eveidnce of "evolution"? If So what is your explantion?

I am doing grade 12 bio thru correspondece I am not asking anyone to DO my homework, but I am stuck on this and would like what some of you think it is..

In the mid-1990's I read an article in Time Magazine about an "Adam" gene and an "Eve" gene - each being present in every male (Adam) and female (Eve) human being on the planet. I am trying to research this for a book I am writing, and am unable to find the original article, or anything written at a layperson level. If anyone can direct me to a reputable site or page I would greatly appreciate the favor. The only site I have located that didn't require chemistry/medical background started out great, then began to unravel, telling tales of spores being deposited on earth from a planet far, far away!

Has anyone ever heard of a bee or an insect that looks like a bee, that is blue with black stripes instead of yellow with black stripes? They used to live on my old elementary school playground where they dug holes in the sandbox kind of like ants tunneling. I've seen one bite a kid, but I've never seen one sting. I've always wondered what those are called. Thanks for any help. I've tried searching online for this. The larvae were found in little cocoons at the bottom of their dens when kids dug them up. As far as I know they didn't eat honey.

Does Ambidexterity increase brain size if you become ambidextrous in your late teens? Also if you learn to write with both hands at the same time(different words) will that increase the size of the brain as well?
I can't seem to find that much information on the internet about being ambidextrous. I want to find a book that talks about this subject as well as the human brain, any suggestions?
I do know that Left-handed and ambidextrous people have 11% larger corpus callosa.

Does anyone know of any proteins which have a large number of isoforms which are reasonably well distributed across the population? I am thinking primarily of proteins which are found in body fluids: blood plasma, semen, gastric juice, saliva, etc...
If anyone could recommend any good online databases which I could look through that would also be a great help.

Which one of the two options offers more job opportunities? Can you work in a microbiology lab as a biomedical/clinical scientist? I'm undecided about which major to pursue in college.
