the surroundings will make certain. right here's a primer on the R-ok theory. All residing issues reproduce. some creatues have few offspring, severe intelligence, lengthy existence and make investments heavly in them(dolphins, elephants, primates). even as others produce large numbers of offsping, extremely dumb and make investments a lot less parental attempt in each and every man or woman (Salmon, rabbits. and so on). on account that rabbits have an extremely severe lack of existence fee from preditors, properly they reproduce like... properly rabbits. If there's a severe disese(and hence date fee from maleria and different pathigens) fee people will change into idiotic, violent, short lived, quickly reproducing machines(imagine of the reformatory inhabitants without the reformatory). those with low reproductive prices will die off swifter than replenishment. If there's a low ailment and absence of existence fee we are able to evolve into extra sensible, lengthy lived, a lot less feritle human beings (imagine MIT students). those with severe repro/violence prices will all be incarcerated or killed by genocide by smarter human beings (There are dozens of cases of this contained in the previous one thousand years..you imagine human nature has replaced, imagine back). Unfortunatly global warming will strengthen the global lack of existence fee by way of ailment, to that end, people are going to adapt to be stupider over the subsequent thousand years or so. Guessing it is how Darwin ought to reply.

Interesting question and the subject of a great Sci Fi book called "Darwin's Radio". If you asked an ape to design a better ape, it probably would be bigger and stronger than the current ape, assuming apes value their strength. If you ask a human to design a better human, it would probably be smarter than humans today since humans value their intelligence. The apes got is wrong, and we are probably getting it wrong as well. The book above posed an interesting alternative, but I won't spoil it for you.

Well, if we dont evolve into something better, some predict we will go extinct... We are not suited for an ice age, and we are due for one. Nor are we likely to survive a mass extinction...
