Which one of the two options offers more job opportunities? Can you work in a microbiology lab as a biomedical/clinical scientist? I'm undecided about which major to pursue in college.

Biomedical science offers a lot more positions in medical fields working with technology, rather than in research, so it just depends on your field of interest. :)

You are more likely to land a job with the government if you have a degree in Microbiology.

I have heard great things about Mcmaster and Western, but not so much U of Ottawa. Out of all 3 universities, the most famous is probably Mcmaster, but that is because of its skilled engineering programs. I'm planning to study Biomedical/Life sciences, but going to U of Toronto. Please tell me what you want to become :)

Rather than job opportunities, it should be the field you find more interest in. If you take one simply because of job opportunities, and then end up at a job you hate than it won't be worth it. Figure out what your passion is, and the jobs will follow. Best Wishes!

Biomedical is the wave of the future; however, Micro will get you a job virtually anywhere.
