Does anyone know of any proteins which have a large number of isoforms which are reasonably well distributed across the population? I am thinking primarily of proteins which are found in body fluids: blood plasma, semen, gastric juice, saliva, etc...
If anyone could recommend any good online databases which I could look through that would also be a great help.

A really good place to start is the NCBI Entrez site (just type NCBI and entrez into google). I believe NCBI is a branch of the NIH. Another database is the Expasy Swiss-prot, but I don't think its as easily searchable.

Would the Major Histocompatibility Complex , MHC (also called Human Leukocyte Antigen, or HLA), suit your needs?

I remember there's this Protein Data Bank website. PDB.com or something. I don't know if it let you search using that sort of criteria.
