The star Mira which is 350 light years away and has a tail that stretches for 13 light years will be visible to the naked eye in november. Even through a telescope will it appear as anything more than a regular star, or will it be possible to see its tail?

I was reading an article about the big chill theory which stated, "The Big Chill theory has been around for decades but has been strengthened by the dark energy findings. If dark energy behaves as predicted, the galaxies will recede from each other at an accelerating rate - eventually faster than lightspeed. When that happens, they will literally vanish from view."

I thought nothing could travel faster than the speed of light. Why do scientists believe it can happen in this case?

Like, when in a car or a bus , we feel the vehicle moving no matter at what speed it might be moving.(say for example , 60 km/hr)
Then, why don,t we feel the motion of the earth although we are rotating and revoluting at a very fast speed? please ELUCIDATE !!!!
thanks!

I am writing an English paper on the Apollo 11 mission being staged. Anyone know of any good websites which could help support my argument? Any help would be appreciated.

I saw a meteorite fall into a wooded area a few months back. No, it wasn't a shooting star, I actually saw the meteorite turn from red-hot to a cool dark color before it fell beneath the trees.

I've been scouring those woods for days trying to locate the space rock, but unsuccessfully. I have a pretty good idea where it landed by looking at two trees that appear to have been hit by the meteor, but that's about all I've got.

Is there an easy way to locate the space rock that I don't know about? It's been a few months so there isn't a crater, but I think I narrowed the location to within 100 sq ft. of it's actual location. Metal detector, maybe?

After all, the moon is only about 240,000 miles from Earth while the stars are many light years away.
