According to this, in order to be on the flight to Mars, you would have to endure time in a confined tank.

Would you do this, in order to be the first to set foot on Mars?

I am not among the conspiracy theorists who doubt the fact that we landed on the moon amost 40 years ago, but I do find it interesting that they won't be able to do it again for just over ten years. Why? If they had the technology to do it back then, what's the delay now? Funding, maybe? Any ideas are appreciated!

The European Space Agency has called for applications for one of the most demanding human experiments in space history - a simulated trip to Mars in which six "astronauts" will spend 17 months in an isolation tank on Earth.

More details here: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20070619/tsc-space-mars-europe-4de741d.html

17 months seems like an awfully long time, but it’s an historic experiment.

Would you be up for it? And what makes you suitable?

I saw a docu about the moon landing hoax theories and i had thos simple question. If it was a hoax, it sounds logical that the soviets with their space experience would find out and expose their enemies.
Can anyone answer?

....when our fears are just chemical reactions in our brain, and that when we die we'll have no such problem. The universe could become a black-hole we wouldn't even know....
May it last 5 trillion yrs before exploding into a big bang, and we'd be born again as if a second went by.......

Anyone ever think like this?

I have never used a telescope before. I am technologically inclined. So learning to use one is no big deal. I just want to be able to look at planets and stars and things at night now and then. What should i be looking for in terms of specifications and dollar range US/Can.....What can you really see in a sub 400 telescope.

My friend recorded this on his camera in the winter:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95Bq-yuQtwo

It's shaky and blurry because he was on his porch in the freezing cold, but you can clearly see the moon-sized object he's pointing the camera at. Half way through the video the object just vanishes, as if it exploded or something.

What could it be?

i notice a lot when i am in the open where you can see A LOT of stars, theres this think in the sky it looks exactly like a star but it is moving throughout the sky in a straight line n it is going pretty fast. i KNOW that it's not a shooting star because those are much faster n they dissapear after a few seconds

What baffles me is over the years since Men/Women have gone on space shuttles there has been an unflattering amount of shuttles that seem to have similar problems. The last 5 years worth of shuttles have all had insulation or contruction problems that really shouldn't be reoccuring. Maybe we should get a new blue print on how these are made, hire new builders, and retrain, hire or fire inspectors. I am baffled on how the same problem can be reoccuring over the years.

I am sure like many "fine" things made by the government w/it's tight budget I am sure has something to do with it. Yet come on wasn't there insulation problems before?
