Yes. Problem there is too much beaucratic crap, and that US is the only superpower. With competition, NASA can get more $$$ to become more competitive - like the space race with the soviets. IMO, we're waaaay overdue for Mars.

Man will inevitably walk on Mars. He's walked on the Moon, Mars is the next step.

i recently heard that NASA is eying a manned challenge to an asteroid. this could be until now a manned challenge to Mars. is sensible. Asteroids are somewhat interior of attain while in comparison with Mars (greater comparatively decrease priced, greater secure). some even come closer to earth than the moon. the variety of challenge could be greater significant than a challenge to Mars and that i think of that's going to be accomplished (because of the fact the asteroids CAN come very on the element of earth) even with the undeniable fact that it could (probable) additionally push a manned challenge to Mars decrease back much greater. -edit- easily the undeniable fact that Mars does have an ecosystem makes it a incredibly basic trip. The rocket gas (methane) to bypass house is made on Mars out of the CO2 interior the ambience by the Sabatier/electrolysis cycle. All you will possibly be able to desire to deliver alongside is a minor volume of hydrogen. the thin ecosystem can be used to sluggish the spacecraft down by aerobraking. however the real hurdles would be all the climate, that still desires to be further, and the nonexisitng autos. NASA examined a methane rocket for the 1st actual time this year... and there is the situation of prolonged exposure to microgravity on the trip out. No element in sending astronauts to Mars if all they are in a position to do while they have landed is gasp for air. Alot of artwork desires to be accomplished and the ISS is a factor of it. IT isn´t even finished yet.

Undoubtedly - the only question is: when?

Mars temperature can reach 25C during the day - which is quite pleasant - but temperatures fall a lot at night due to lack of atmosphere to retain heat - hence it is unlikely that man will ever live on Mars other than in their spacecraft/ domes/ underground - unless a thicker atmosphere could be created.

yes but it would take some time or it would not be for very long. we could send a guy all of the way over there, and and leave before he freezes. or we could go through the time of teraforming mars. first to make it liveable for life on earth we would have to make it warmer. we could pollute it which could raise temps to a point that we could send plants to mars and then they would create oxygen by "inhaling" CO2. finally when the temp is warm enough for animal life and there was enough oxygen we would send various animals then humans to mars. it would take a very long time though.

but i walked on mars last night in my dream, haha

I think NASA will send robotic rovers to Mars. Although I have heard after a moon base is built NASA may build a Mars base too.

Yeah, we will! Not today, not tomorrow but someday we will walk on Mars!
I wish it was me!
