There is no air in space so no phyisacal way that the Sun can keep burning. How can this be? I am very very very comfused. I really want to know so that my good friend can know and also so that i can know. This is very confused and I don't know how the Sun can keep burning if there is NO STINKIN' AIR IN SPACE. I just want to know. Thanks so much.

The International Space Station doesn't count; low Earth orbit isn't what I mean by "space"....

A colony on the Moon or Mars would count.

It is so exciting to learn how evolution has created such a complex universe and scientest have to plan, design and work so hard just to try to understand a small part of it.

As an amateur astronomer, I have become a passionate hater of daylight saving time and standard time because I believe they are unnatural measurements of the time of day. Therefore, I set my clock to the true solar time of the north-south line that runs through the middle of my house. I still have to operate on the legal time because everyone else does, but I don't believe a clock should tell a different time than the sun indicates. When my clock reads noon, it really is noon by the sun. I also don't think that the federal government has any moral right to tell people how to reckon the time of day. I understand that as travel became faster, there was pressure to standardize time, but should commerce be put before nature or the other way around?

I was wondering if you can see Gliese 581 with the naked eye? I recently noticed a new bright "star" (well to me its new) in the sky. I have used my telescope to see this star but it gets so close I cant see the whole thing. It is usually diagonally down from the square part of the big dipper (i believe) thanks for any help!

How is it that a Gamma Ray Burst puts out more energy than the rest of the universe during the time that the GRB is happening? A physicist said that this happens and I won't to know how. Please leave sources for your info.

What would have been the escape velocity of the matter in the universe at the big bang, in order to stop it re-imploding?
Surely it couldn't be faster than light? And light cannot even escape the gravity in a black hole!
Surely there must be some natural mechanism for this that can be seen today, after all this is only simple uniformitisum.
