For my simplicity here let’s assume a little guy/orbit pilot (employer is nature) rides in an orbiting object and he must navigate the satellite around the correct orbit. I assume he only needs a velocity controller. He has two instruments to look at. (1)A gravity indicator (ft/sec^2) which detects all gravity sources action on the satellite. (2) A centripetal force indicator [(ft/sec^2)]. He must keep the two indicators reading the same values or his employment will be terminated without benefits (I would hate having his job). THIS IS MY QUESTION. What external force does the centripetal detector sense (velocity) to display the correct value? I’m guessing the detector is detecting something at right angle to vertical forces of gravity acting on the detector. What is it????

(1) Feel free to correct my little scenario if need be, excluding grammar. If you can’t help yourself from considering grammar then go ahead.

(1a) Are other instruments needed?

I am not looking for names or donations just whether you would be interested in such a project or is this idea stupid.

I was thinking that a lot of people would like to see mankind in space properly (i.e. able to use the resources there available).

I think it would do a lot to secure our planets bio-sphere and generally advance mankind. As ever the project is mostly in the hands of governments and governments are generally incompetent.

I wondered if anyone else would consider contributing either with work, materials or money to such a project.

With the advances in Internet communication and the general increase in world wealth I believe that it is something that could be achieved by a large group of people.

Would you be interested?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Side_of_the_Moon_%28documentary%29
The tone of the documentary begins with low key revelations of NASA working closely with Hollywood at the time of the Moon landings. Over the course of the tale, Karel postulates that not only did Kubrick help the USA fake the moon landings but that he was eventually killed by the CIA to cover up the truth. First hand testimony backing these claims come from Rumsfeld and Dr. Kissinger, which lend credence to the story.

It is finally revealed that this is a mockumentary as the end credits roll over a montage of blooper reels, with the main participants laughing over the absurdity of their lines or questioning if particular ones would give the joke away too soon. Besides being a comedic documentary, it is also an exercise in Jean Baudrillard's theories of hyperreality.

I read that Mars once had very active volcano's, and that there is the possiblity that there are hundreds of miles worth of lava tubes under the suface of Mars that could possibly be used as habitats for Martian colonists, and that habitats build in lava tubes would protect the shelters from micro-meteor stikes and the thick volcanic stone would deflect a great deal of solar and cosmic radiation. Hypothetheticaly would this be a much better place to build a Martain colony?
