If you want to learn/see something interesting look up these things.
1.Nebulas (my favorite is the bubble nebula)
2.Galaxies
3.Red Giants
4.White Dwarfs
5.Comets (Hale Boop to be exact ^_^)
It's so cool once you get into it, it's like an addiction. After this fix, trust me you'll want to see more. It's just that fascinating!

Here is a site with general information on space, and lots of photographs from the Hubble Space Telescope. You won't get any better photos of galaxies and nebulae.

I wanna be one when I grow up too, check out the following web site. Private site about one type of telescope (Meade ETX), but even if you don't have that type of scope his sight has a lot of info on amateur astronomy ranging from the basics to advanced topics. His Links page alone can keep you busy for years.

Nasa sites are the best, and you can use their images with out worry of copywrite infringements because it is public domain.
