We need to start getting some answers and band together to become a more peaceful humanity

Below is a table of data for pairs/groups/clusters of galaxies. The apparent angular diameter in mm of the largest spiral galaxy in each has been measured on the Lick Sky Atlas or Canterbury Sky Atlas (northern and southern hemisphere 15 degree square photograph prints). If we assume that the largest spiral in any group or cluster has the same linear diameter as M31 (the largest spiral in our local group of galaxies) then the distance to the other galaxies can be calculated since we know the angular diameter of M31 (28mm) and its distance (about .7 Mpc). The relation is:
Dgalaxy=dM31x(theta)M31/(theta)galaxy
What?

Can you show me the correct way to use the formula to find this out? Also plug in the numbers so I can see what you did.

D= distance

The 6 possible sites are:
1. Loch Ness
2. Sedona, AZ
3. The Burmuda Triangle
4. The Bell Witch Cave
5. The Great Pyramid
6. The Whaley House
Wonder if anyone would enter into one of those portals.
Have you heard of any other places that could possibly be portals? They say UFOs come from another dimension into ours.

Seems that almost every galaxy with a black hole has a close relationship between the mass of the hole and the mass of the galaxy, and also the rotation rate of the galaxy. And the black hole may have formed first..

If mercury is 3000 miles in diameter and 36million miles from the sun. Venus is 7600 miles big and 67million miles from the sun. Earth is 8000 and 93million. Mars is 4200 and 141million. Jupiter is 89000 and 483million. Saturn is 75000 and 881million. Uranus is 33000 and 1.785billion. And Neptune is 31000 and 2.795billion. What's a good scale model to have this go by so that my model of the solar system could fit into the average classroom? I tried 1000 miles equals one inch. That would make mercury 3 inches in diameter which is good, but it would be 3000 feet from the sun, which is impractical. Also, could you tell me how big and how far from the sun each planet would be.

For a map of Mars, click here: http://www.the-planet-mars.com/pictures/map-of-mars.jpg

According to a news story on Yahoo, a spacecraft orbiting Mars has scanned huge deposits of water ice at its south pole so plentiful they would blanket the planet in 36 feet of water if they were liquid --- plenty of water for the Martian colonists. The Maraldi region is very close to the South Pole, but I'd imagine that we wouldn't want to start building on the icy region itself. Instead, we could find a mountain in the Maraldi region, tunnel it out, build our installation inside, and then build a road down to where the ice deposits are much more concentrated. From there, we could mine the water and bring it back to "Maraldi City" (Mars' new capital). It'd be tough to harvest enough solar energy on Mars, but the wind gusts tend to be pretty strong, so I'd recommend placing windmills on the top of that mountain (or mountain range, if we want to have a much larger base for building).

I was just looking at photos of the Earth Rise and then of the moon. I find it odd that while the Earth and Moon are lit there is no light in outer space. There are no rays of the sun, not even particles of light floating about in space. What gives?
