The sun is moving at 217 km/s according to Wikipedia. From what I read gravity is caused by movement, and gravity is what keeps us in orbit. So if the sun stopped moving, and it's gravitational force changed, would the planets stay in orbit or would they fling into space?

The mysteries of creation are there The moon and the planets are there.
And new hopes for knowledge and peace are there.
And therefore as we set sail; we ask gods blessing --
On the most hazardous, and dangerous, and greatest adventure
Of which man has ever embarked. --> john f. kennedy

I self lord and master shall bring disaster to evil factors
Demonic chapters, shall be captured by kings
Through the storms of days after
Unto the earth from the sun through triple darkness to blast ya
With a force that cant be compared
To any firepower, for its mindpower shared
The brainwake, causes vessels to circulate
Like constellations reflect at night off the lake
Word to the father, and mother earth
Seeking everlasting life through this hell for what its worth
Look listen and observe
And watch another c-cypher pullin my peeps to the curb
Heed the words; its like ghetto style proverbs
The righteous pay a sacrifice to get what they deserve
Cannot afford to be confined to a cell
Brainwaves swell, turnin a desert to a well
Experience the best teacher; thoughts will spray
Like street sweepers little daddy street preacher
Illustrious feature, narrator you select
Accompanied by deck plus the dj you respect
The seven and a half combine, over the frontline
The ten percenters, promotin slander in the airtime
Bear in mind jewels be the tools of the trade
Sharp veins heavenly praise and dues are paid

I just bought a celestron 114 telescope. Its a newtonian relector. Whenever i try looking at a star, all i can see it a reflection of the inner part of the telescope...it appears as a circle which is the shadow of the small mirror coming down from the eye piece. Any ideas how to adjust to solve problem....thanks

Is it possible for a planet to have an orbit that goes around both stars? In an 8 shape specifically, wherein when it goes through the space between the stars, it changes it's direction and goes around the opposite star to which it just left?

Also is said gravity still produced on Earth, but not felt because of the gravity of Earth, or does it not get produced at all because of our incorporation into said gravitational force?

My goodness. What a world we live in now, when people get out and see the sky so infrequently they don't realise the sun and moon are often in the same sky.

And why shouldn't they be in the same sky?

The moon revolves around the earth., so it can be in any quarter of the sky. It doesn't matter whether we are in night or day - makes not an atom of difference.

HALF THE TIME THE MOON IS VISIBLE, IT IS VISIBLE IN DAYLIGHT.

Someone said the questioner should read more. But it is not just that - he should get out and use his eyes more.

Anyone else worried about this burgeoning ignorance of the world around us?

If planet Earth has seasons based on it's distance from the Sun, would binary stars have seasons by the same principle(of convection), or would their radiation amounts have no impact?

Would the light(and other radiation) from one get repulsed by light from the other and vice versa?
