My goodness. What a world we live in now, when people get out and see the sky so infrequently they don't realise the sun and moon are often in the same sky.

And why shouldn't they be in the same sky?

The moon revolves around the earth., so it can be in any quarter of the sky. It doesn't matter whether we are in night or day - makes not an atom of difference.

HALF THE TIME THE MOON IS VISIBLE, IT IS VISIBLE IN DAYLIGHT.

Someone said the questioner should read more. But it is not just that - he should get out and use his eyes more.

Anyone else worried about this burgeoning ignorance of the world around us?

my problem is that you answer your own question with an insult to people in general.

i did not see the question you refer to, but perhaps it was asked by a young person who just wanted to learn something.

there is never anything wrong with asking questions to gain knowledge. the only problem is asking questions to insult people.

Don't get too worked up... many of the people who participate in Yahoo Answers are very young and still learning even basic things about the world around them.

I start to wonder if teh intarweb has ushered in a new age where no child ever answers a homework question on their own. It seems that no one cares to train their brain anymore because it's so easy to rely on a technological cheat.

Edit: Ditto to what Gene said!

Definitely and what really bothers me is when people here guess at answers and wind up completely wrong. It's better not to answer than to guess.
