Recent research strongly implies that the universe has no end. It will continue to expand indefinitely.

If the universe had an 'end,' or any other boundary whatsoever it wouldn't be The Universe which by definition is everything there ever was, is now, or ever will be.

Hard concepts to grasp indeed, but at the present time science can't offer anything better.

Where does the Universe end? It ends with a big bang, and God decides when that will be! Sometime after the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ, after the thousand years are up, God will create a new heaven(Universe) and earth! That is where and when it will end in the future!
Since the Universe is multi-dimensional, but only four dimensions are unfolded and can be detected by our scientific instruments, like particle accelerators and telescopes like the Hubble, the Universe, always in constant expansion, like an expanding balloon, is at least 15 billion light years in diameter!!! That's where it ends, or near there physically.

It seems that the universe doesnt have an end. However there is a limit to how far we can see out into the universe. this limit is the microwave background radiation, which comes from about 14 billion light years away. It is this far because thats how old the universe is and light hasnt had time to travel any further!

where " the Universe ends?"
is at this current point in time and space that the Universe
has expanded into.
like dropping a water droplet on a paper towel.
the droplet expands in an outward direction from the center
its a bit simple analogy and not not entirely correct
because the the universe is both expanding in space and time

Seriously, I don't think there is an end to it. I believe the universe is the universe - it's everything forever - it probably goes curving around into different dimensions.

Here are some theories and discussions about it:

The Universe ends at the farthest known objects. Here is a great visual reference for all things astronomical. Book mark it.

It is still not sure, anyway the radius of the visible universe is about 46 billion light years. We don't either know if our universe is the ONLY universe, but any other universe could not exist in the same space-time our universe is in.

the definition of Universe is:

1 the totality of known or supposed objects and phenomena throughout space; the cosmos; macrocosm.

So i think a good answer for a kid would be that it ends with your imagination.

It ends when it begins! Or it begins when it ends! Take your pick they are both correct!
