I'm working on my Astronomy work and one of my tasks is to calculate the resolution of a telescope with this information:
type:reflector
focal length of objective: 250mm
Diameter of objective: 500 mm
Focal length of standard eye piece: 20mm
and the formula:
angular resolution=0.25 wavelength/telescope diameter

I can't figure out how to get the wavelength!!! someone help me please!

Let's say you went back to 6 important time periods and discovered they never happened, didn't exist at all, what would you think? The history books, etc., etc. all say it happened!

If there was a hole straight through the earth. an opening on both sides. You drop a big rock or something like that in it. would the rock fall straight through and pop out of the other side or would at some point it just stop and float.

I know that the light from Sirius is 24.2 times more intense than light from Polaris and their difference in magnitude is 3.4

So how about if a star is 40 times more intense? Would the difference in magnitude be 4?

Thank you

I've been told that though it was fully eclipsed, it was still illuminated from the sun's light filtered through the earth's atmosphere, the reason it was redish-rusty-ruddy is because the earth's atmosphere is much more polluted than the last time we had a full eclipse.

Is this true?
