The relationship between technology and discoveries in space have evolved together because of each other. You see, as we explore space we need the appropriate technology to do so, and as we are exploring further and further into space from Earth, so too has our technology also advanced at a similar rate !

The relationship between the weight we feel on earth and the motions of the planets was not discovered until after telescopes were invented and accurate measurements of where the planets are and how fast and in what direction they are moving.
The Hubble telescope was improved and now we have discovered planets about other stars.
