You might be able to travel back to any time period, but I think there are Universal laws which would prohibit you from interfering or changing events as they happen. To directly answer your question, yes, it would be "very" scary if the history books are wrong and I think humans in general would feel cheated the truth was not told the way it should have been !

I don't know if it would be scary, per se; I'd be satisfied to discover the truth. Now, if I went back to periods of my own life and discovered they never happened, then I'd be a bit worried!

If they don't exist, we wouldn't be able to visit them!
I would think, I wasn't reading history, I was reading fiction, perhaps, historical fiction or science fiction, but most definitely fiction, lots and lots of author's imagination.

I would have thought that just me being there...messing around..created a paradox.......in which nothing is as it was supposed to be........thank.s to me........messing around with the natural order of event,s.....stoping thing,s from happening.....doing thing,s that didn't happen.....you know....creating a big paradox!

I would think that my time machine put me into an alternate universe.

Thanks for the two points, sorry but I must return to the future and let every one know this time doesn't exist.
