I don't know how to explain in words so ...
O = Earth, -- = Rope, ) = atmosphere, >> = shuttle.

O ) -->> what if the rope is long enough to drop down to earth from a shuttle in orbit.
O -)->> rope enters the atmosphere

Can the rope be held in mid air just like magic or will the rope pull the shuttle down.

Humans have been releasing EMI radiation into space for 106 years. That's over 623 trillion miles traveled. A light-year is equal to about 5,878,625,373,183.61 statute miles. The first radio broadcast was Dec.23 1900 by Reginald Fessenden. Over 500 stars are within this range.

Its the closest galaxy to us. Do you think it might strip away some of the mystery surrounding dark matter? Gravity of dark matter is believed to hold galaxies together. What's your belief? The collision might take place or it will travel around us a few times before colliding. This is centuries away.

Is the universe actually expanding or are we way off on that one? Just because we see red shift doen't mean that the microwave radiation is red shifted radiation from the formation of the univers. Surely it could be anything and this is all hypothetical?

I find it hard to understand how it (the universe as we know it) could have just 'happened'. How did time and matter just start? And according to red shift the universe is expanding- what is it expanding into? Is it ging in a great big circle?
