So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.
Why haven't we heard from them?
Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.
Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.
Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.
Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.
Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.
It is really impossible to know for sure.
The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

Because we might be aliens! Based on scientific evidence (or of there lacking) there appears to be billions of years of early evidence of life missing. Its thought that life may have started on another planet or other celestial body of which a peice made it to Earth and colonized Earth. If we do find aliens I think they would be completely different from what we assume an alien would look like, we may not even be surre if we should classify it as life at all.

My inverse question to you, is:
how can you not believe there may well be other life in this massive, gargantuous universe we live in.
Some clear night, spend a few hours looking around the galaxies with a telescope. I am not expecting you will see or find life, but anyone with any mind at all, has to ask themselves, is it mathmatically even possible we are the only ones alive?
In answer to your question, yes, I believe. I believe because i have an open mind, because I see the universe around me and I say...no matter if you believe in God or not, its highly practical to theorize that there are most likely other life forms out there...somewhere.

Only when I get a realistic report of a sighting that is believable. Still waiting for that.
If you read Hoyle and Wickramsinghe, they talk about the logistical improbability of putting together the DNA molecule, the basis of all life as we know it. There are so many combinations of atoms that have to be correct, that the probability is a larger number than all the stars in the universe.
Therefore, Earth may be the only source of life in the universe.
The complexity of life is so incredible, even at the bacterial level, that I am inclined to agree.
We may be it. Better make the most of it.

Aliens aren't real... If they were...They would've taken over the world already! Aliens are just a hoax to make science and the solar system look interesting =) lol

Yes.
It is highly unlikely, perhaps even virtually impossible, that given the literally billions of solar systems in our known universe that earth is the only planet that has spawned life forms.
And, no, given the incomprehensible distances involved, I do not believe we have been visited, abducted or monitored.

I agree with speedy, the universe is so big and there is nothing all that special about our solar system. I believe there are many civilizations even in our galaxy. Will we ever talk to one....donno.

Yes,
It is rediculus to think that with all the other planets in the universe that we are the only one to have life on it.
Also, there have been a lot of sightings over the years

There can't not be other sentient beings in the enless universe. Besides that would explain my wierd body issues that doctors scratch thier heads about.
