You got a lot of positives-and god reasons. And I agree--NASA should not only continue--but they should get the funding to expand their efforts.
But here's another perspective on why. Basic science and technological prograss go together--andin our world todaay they are the sine qua non of economic progress. Space related research has already been crucial in the development of computers, weather and communication satellites, and medical technology--to name just a few areas of benefit.
And we are very close to the point (say, 10 years) when orbital industry can get started. That means extremely large benefits --economic as well as technological--in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, new matierals for many applications, and electronics--and probably more besides. Stuff we know can be done--but we need reliable access to space if we are to get those benefits.

Yes. Man strives to learn. Plus, we keep screwing this planet up, we might have to figure out how to survive somewhere else.
Yes, I know, some of you are thinking "and screw up another planet"! I surmise that is certainly possible. But hopefully by the time we can get to somewhere habitable, we'll have learned something about that angle.

because humans by nature are greedy and can't get along, so eventually they will destroy their own environment and will outgrow their own planet. The only thing left will be to "move out" and colonize other planets (just as Europe at one point became "too small and too crowded" and we moved into Americas)

yes. If understanding how the world works is not enough reason for you, Seeing what's going on at other planets can help us understand what's going on at our own, and technologies developed for space help US maintain its technological advantage.

Yes. Because.
Humans are human because they ask "why?" What is over that hill? Around that corner? What happens if I bang the rocks together?
