It blows my mind to even start thinking about an end or what would be at the end of outer space... Its kinda scary to think about.

Me i don't think it is a good idea to put weapons in space at all, sure there will always be the what if a asteroid comes a calling arguement, but in my opinion if an asteroid comes this way we may as well just bend over and kiss our butts good by because no amount of weapons in orbit is going to do anything.

Does it bother anyone else that billions of dollars are being spent on space exploration while we have loads of problems at home on Earth? Wouldn't it make sense to give NASA a rest for a few years to solve some worldly problems and then maybe worry about what the hell is in space?

Well i was watching the discovery channel last night. And it was talking about how the sun will eventually turn into a white dwarf. I already knew all of this of course. But i was wondering since the sun gets hotter and bigger every second until it eventually burns out. Could this be a reason why the earth is warming up and the ice caps are melting blah you know the usual global warming stuff haha. I think that pollution and everything plays a role of course. But if the sun thing is true. Wouldnt that mean really there is no way for are future generations to escape the destruction of earth.

If this particle travels through space faster than the speed of light and this particle is in actual fact matter, does this mean that space is in actual fact not a vacuum?

At the equator, land tends to receive around 12 hours a day. At the poles, you get months of complete darkness and months of non-stop light. But overall?

lets say you have 3 ships being separated by 5 lightminutes each, forming a triangle. all three ships maintain their distances and travel same course with half the speed of light in a very light nebular (for optical reasons)
Now Ship A fires a 1 minute laserbeam on Ship B, destroying it.
Ship C takes photos.. what will these photos tell ?
What do they exactly observe, why and when ?
(This is NOT a homework question) :P

I have read lots of answers about how the sun will one day get so big that it consumes the Earth, this won't happen for millions of years but almost every answer i read say's that all life on Earth would be killed. My beef with this is that isn't evolution always taking place, so isn't it possible that the human race millions of years from now could still live on Earth but be evolved enough to leave the planet at there discresion?

By this time i would also imagine the humans of this future time would have already spread outward to the other solar systems in our Galaxy.
