Well i was watching the discovery channel last night. And it was talking about how the sun will eventually turn into a white dwarf. I already knew all of this of course. But i was wondering since the sun gets hotter and bigger every second until it eventually burns out. Could this be a reason why the earth is warming up and the ice caps are melting blah you know the usual global warming stuff haha. I think that pollution and everything plays a role of course. But if the sun thing is true. Wouldnt that mean really there is no way for are future generations to escape the destruction of earth.

The sun won't start expanding until it's core runs out of light elements in five billion years.

And I agree, Global Warming may be part of a larger natural cycle.

Because humans, contrary to what we like to beilive are still a part of nature. Civiization is the higher goal of the world and the evolution of humanity of the utmost importance.

But there cannot be evolution without trials of a mortal nature.

If the sun were increasing in heat output even enough for a 1 degree rise per decade that would mean the earth would have been in an ice age until just a few thousand years ago. And that's definitely not the case.

Scientists have stellar evolution models based on calculation of nuclear reaction rates that say the Sun should get hotter over time, but we have not measured any temperature change. It would be too small a change to measure in such a short time as recorded human history.

No, the sun won't start dying for another 5 billion years or so. We don't have anything to worry about.

I think we have no idea how much GW is due to humans... after all, it is happening on Mars too!

Yes you are right.....also just like everything else in nature there is a natural cycle.....like the seasons....except on a longer and larger scale.
