The planets lined up on would 5, 2000. there became meant to be a pole shift. It did no longer take place. The alignment on 12-21-2012 is thoroughly diverse. The sunlight will upward push against the dark area of the Milky way, a as quickly as in 26,000 3 hundred and sixty 5 days alignment signifying the start of a sparkling sunlight. The Mayan long count form calendar would not end. The 12th Baktun of the calendar ends. 12-21-2012 is the 1st day of the thirteenth Baktun.

Usually refers to the end of the current Mayan calender and has been seminal in creating another cottage industry, like conspiracy theories, cattle mutilation, crop circles and mood rings and keeps that buffoon, George Noory employed.

Let's approach this from another angle, okay? Let's say that aliens come to Earth and look at a calender of ours. They see that it ends on December 31st of 2006. Do you think that the first thing the aliens do is radio up to the Mother Ship and report that they have until that date to complete their mission? Or, that they might be intelligent enough to know that it is just part of a cycle and that on January 1st, there will be a new calender hanging there?

I think that the Mayans had some sort of cycle in mind...one which ends in 2012. Or perhaps, they were limited by the weight of the stones they were carved in and could only fit so much info onto it. And there may be other explanations, but none of them have to do with the end of the world as we know it. Silly stuff.

During the alignment on 12-21-2012, the sun will rise against the dark area of the Milky Way, a once in 26,000 year alignment signifying the birth of a new sun.
The Mayan Long Count calendar doesn't end. The 12th Baktun of the calendar ends. 12-21-2012 is the first day of the 13th Baktun.

In the book; The Bible Code. This year is supposed to be armagedon. Well, Im sure if the prophecy is up to 6 months off. That's still pretty accurate. There were end of the world theories in every century since recorded history. Unless somehitng at least 1/100 th the size of our planet doesn't hit our planet at a high enough impact to warp the Earth or crack it in half. The Earth will continue to rotate and exist even if we all die form a combination of nuclear war, disease, heat, flooding, drought and radiation poisoning. But, by 2012 you can expect higher sea levels, some flooding, higher heat related deaths, more powerfull huricanes and possibly extra radio active fallout if there's going to be a nuclear exchange.
Really, nothing to worry about. Durng world war 2. Didn't like 40 000 000 people die in the span of 7 years ? Guess how long it took to replace them. 6 months of mounting-copulating behaviour.
So, yes we can expect some series of major catastropes;wars, pandemics, natural disasters to reduce our populations. But, these populations will be replaced very quickly and re-stimulate the cause of their own demise once again.

I've answered this once before and completely rewrote it and even researched some extra stuff just for you, but then it asked me to reenter my password and lost everything I wrote.

I'm pissed.

So, here's what I wrote last time.

"The Mayan's supposedly got this callander from the Olmec, who supposedly got it from some other older civilization who supposedly got it from a pale skinned God with grey hair and a beard who refered to himself as the winged serpent or Quetzacoatl in the native dialect.

The legend goes that he taught them much about agriculture, healing, astronomy, mathmatics etc.

He said he would return one day and pointed out to them the date on the calander when he would. Saying that he would come from the sea out of the East.

By the time that day came, the Aztec were the primary power in the reigon. And on the day he said he would return, Cortez landed and thinking these pale skinned, bearded men bearing the fruits of western civilization appeared on the shores the Aztec mistook them for their ancient benifactor and welcomed them as gods with open arms.

Isn't the world facinating?

But inevetably, the Mayan were probably wrong in some respects. The Sun is very, very, very distant from the center of the galaxy and it would take billions and billions of years for it to travel that far.

We know how that the center of the galaxy is not where stars come from, they are formed by the condensing of Nebuli under their own gravity. If anything, it's quite the oppisite, some therorize there is an enormous black hole at the center of the galaxy. So, if anything, it's more akin to a grave than a womb.

If they got that wrong, how much else could be wrong?

In the end, it doesn't seem likely, we don't know and even if it was true, there's nothing you can do about it anyway.

Do like I've been doing for about ten years now and try not to think about it, too much. ^_^

Also, try reading a book called Fingerprints of the Gods. That's my source for most of what I've said, in regards to Central American civilization and mythos. And it's chocked full of other facinating tidbits. "

I just think it's funny. I have heard of that also by a friend. She reminds me of that 12 year (12 being the number of perfection or is it completetion? in the Bible).

The Myans (spelling?) I think fortold something of a end of days in this year 2012. But like God says in His word......there is noone who knows the day nor hour of the END. the year??? hmmmm? If it is the year 2012 why be worried? We should be ready everyday to be taken away in the rapture IF we are born again believers. If not, then yes, there IS something to be worried about.

An asteroid (300 x 400 metres) is supposed to come close to Earth April 13th (Friday the 13th) 2029. Depending on how much the Earth's gravitational force will change the asteroid's path will determine whether or not this asteroid will collide with Earth in 2036.

this 2012 stuff is silly. It's based on a calandar from some extinct culture in south america. These people were savages, not sages.
I would worry more about terrorists and other worthless people who want to kill us all in 2006, not 2012.
