light travels an estimated seven trillion miles a year. If the sun is 96 million miles away from the earth. Then that means it is about one one hundreth of a light year away am i correct in that? And also if that is true then that means it takes one one-hundreth of a year for the light to get here. That means like three and a half days i think. So does that mean when you look at the sun you are seeing it three and a half days ago. If this is right i am fascinated by that arent you? And if it is wrong what did i calculate wrong i did it rather fast in my head so it probably is.

Do you think they are observing us. But, we don't know about it and they're planning some kind of an invasion within 2 decades ? I just have this feeling we're being watched or listened to from far away. But, they're canceling their noise. So that we don't know about their position.

Serious answers would be nice but I'm expecting too much there! There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth. This is believed by most boffins. If that is true - surely, we can't be the only one with vehicles on our speck of dust. So that is why I believe in UFO's but never had the luck to witness one.

Say, we are 100,000 light/years away from a hypothetical galaxy that is 100,000 light/years in diameter.
We can see the close edge of this galaxy and the far edge of this galaxy.
Close edge is 100,000 light/years away from us. Far edge is 200,000 light/years away from us.
Since the light takes longer from the far edge to us, the galaxy's geometry shoiuld appear distorted to us?
Instead of seeing spiral arms we should see a soup a stars. Discuss.
